Xuga Pants

Sewn from a single beach towel. This is the towel's own account of how that happened.

“My name's Alfred. I used to be from Milan with my white look”

Chapter one

My first life

From
Mġarr, Malta

Started life as a crisp, sharp-creased pair of navy trousers from Milan, built for a life of constant movement. Caught espresso spills in Rome, rode on scooters, and weathered a long summer holiday in Malta. This softened slate-grey design carries a rich, worn-in history of travel and adventure. Lovingly rescued from a hostel lost-and-found and transformed with vintage flannel patches into unique studio pants by an artist.

Chapter two

Becoming something new

Cut, sewn and finished in the XUGA workshop in November 2025.

Nothing was thrown away that still had use left in it. Drag the handle to see the towel become the piece.
